FAQ's about our info sessions:
Q: I already took the online orientation. Why do I need to show up for an in-person information session?
A: The online orientation covers the National Red Cross's history, services, mission, and other important info for those interested in volunteering. The monthly volunteer info session is the next step in providing potential volunteers with Chapter-specific information (each chapter has variation in programs, opportunities, and application processes). We want to provide you with the most up-to-date information possible about our local programs, volunteer opportunities, including details on the application processes for specific positions. This also gives us the opportunity to answer any of your questions in person.
Q: How do I register for a session?
A: To register for a session at the downtown Cincinnati office (720 Sycamore St.), please contact Tina Parker or contact the Volunteer Resource Department at 513-579-3074.
Q: Where are the sessions held?
A: Sessions held in the Downtown Cincinnati area take place at 720 Sycamore St., Cincinnati, OH 45202. Parking is available in the back of the building, off Eighth Street.
Q: I am not available on any of the dates the info sessions are offered. Are there any other options?
A: If you are unable to attend any of the sessions, please contact Volunteer Resources to schedule a one-on-one appointment. Or call 513-579-3074.
Q: I live in Butler County. Can I have my info session there?
A: Butler County applicants will be contacted directly (following receipt of their application) by a representative of our Butler County office to arrange a session in their area (office located in Middletown, OH).
Q: I live in the Chapter's region, but too far from the Downtown Cincinnati (ex., Pendleton Co.) to drive there. Can I make alternate arrangements for my session?
A: If you are located too far from the Downtown Cincinnati office (but within the Cincinnati Area Chapter's region) to attend a session at that location, please contact Volunteer Resources to make alternative arrangements (email or telephone sessions can be arranged). Please refer to this page for updates on class dates and locations.
