2007- 2008 School Programs
Periodically, special funding becomes available that makes it possible for us to send instructors into schools to provide safety-related programs for students. Here is what is available for the 2007 – 2008 school year:
The All Kids Ready! Preparedness Campaign provides 40-minute classroom presentations to grades
2 – 5 in a morning, an afternoon or an entire school day!
Grades 2 & 4: Injury prevention and a basic first aid demonstration
Grades 3 & 5: Ideas about making a family disaster plan and family disaster kit
This program is made possible by staffing provided through
AmeriCorps – Prepare Ohio.

Fire Escape! – Fantastic Tales of Fire Safety
is a puppet presentation geared toward students in grades 3 – 5. This 45-minute presentation emphasizes five fire safety messages, in a format that is fun and interactive. This show is available September - November of Fall 2007.

Wind Around the Toy Box
is a puppet presentation for grades K – 2. In this 30-minute presentation, students learn about ways to find out if a tornado is coming, how to choose a tornado safe place and the importance of having a family disaster kit. This show is available March 1 – June 15, 2007.

The Sesame Street Fire Safety Program
is a 45-minute program designed to bring kindergarten and pre-school children five safety messages through puppet shows, songs and active practice. Available October 1 – November 30.
