Continuing Service
Summer Youth: Looking for a fun way to spend the summer and earn up to 120 hours of community service? Support your local chapter of American Red Cross by volunteering with other youth throughout the summer. You might help us prepare for the United Way Campaign, work with computers, pack first aid kits or serve as an assistant in one of our departments. This program runs from June to August. You must be at least 12 years old to participate.
International Youth: Do you want to learn more about what the American Red Cross does to improve lives all around the world? Would you like to help in this effort? International Youth help set up and run Measles Initiative Campaigns. This is a week long educational and fundraising campaign that can be adapted for your school or group. These activities are things you can do on your own, at your school or church, whenever you would like, under the guidance of the American Red Cross. We can help get you started by giving you ideas and materials.
Disaster Youth Corps: The best way to get involved in Disaster Services is in the Disaster Youth Corps. Disaster Youth members assist in community preparedness and education, volunteer in the chapter building, participate as victims in disaster drills, help in disaster shelters, and many other exciting things in the disaster service field.
Youth Action Leaders: Want to help plan and carry out service projects for other teens? Youth action leaders are for teens who want to use their leadership skills to impact their community and help the Red Cross. Many of our service projects need teen leaders to help us carry them out. Take an active role in changing the world while meeting new people, gaining a sense of self worth and having fun. Joining the youth action team is an easy way to complete service hours for school. With greater commitment there is greater reward.
