Volunteer Opportunities

Disaster Health Services-- Health Services personnel provide emergency and preventive health services to disaster victims and to Red Cross Disaster Services staff. It also cooperates in approved appropriate research designed to mitigate disaster-related illness, injury and death.
Disaster Mental Health Services --The American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Services staff are licensed mental health professionals trained to recognize the emotional impact of a disaster on those affected--both victims and workers. They help people recognize, understand, and cope with the specific feelings they experience after a disaster.
Disaster Team -- Disaster Action Team (DAT) is a team of trained Red Cross volunteers sent to the scene of a disaster within our Chapter area to provide immediate relief to victims and emergency workers. You might be called on to arrive at a disaster scene, assess disaster damage, staff an emergency shelter, serve food, and provide assistance to disaster victims.
Disaster Youth Corps --High school age youth particpate in disaster drills both as simulated victims and responders, attend special events, and assist the disaster teams in large disasters. For more information click here or to contact through Myspace click here.

Preparedness --There are several activities in the preparedness department such as: drills, staffing booths at events, participating in parades, and giving presentations.
