Business Emergency Planning Association

Are you prepared if your company was faced with a disaster?
Would you know what to do?
Would your company be able to function and meet customer needs?

Why should you plan ahead?

Businesses that do NOT have a formal plan may not recover from a business interruption in a timely and effective manner. If you do not have a plan that enables you to function and meet customer needs, YOU should think about joining the Business Emergency Planning Association of the Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

What is Business Emergency Planning?

  • Being Prepared for Downtime
  • Dealing with Business Interruptions
  • Having your staff trained and equipped

Why should your vendors have a plan?

Do your vendors have adequate business recovery plans if they were faced with:

  • Power Failure
  • Computer Virus
  • Fire
  • Flood
  • Tornadoes
  • Weapons of Mass Destruction

What is the Business Emergency Planning Association?

The Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross has developed BEPA as a resource for the business community. “We want to see businesses succeed and fully recover if they are faced with an emergency situation. To do so, they need to plan and be prepared,” said Gary Miller, Director of Preparedness Services, the Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

What does BEPA provide?

The Business Emergency Planning Association gives businesses a forum to learn how to plan and troubleshoot potential problems in an emergency situation.

BEPA Offers:

  • Workshops on OSHA and Emergency Planning
  • Vendor resources in the Greater Cincinnati Area
  • Business Continuity Planning Web Site
  • Annual Conference on Business Continuity Planning
  • Mentoring Opportunities with experienced professionals

Why should you invest in BEPA?

  • Maintain Revenue
  • Companies unprepared for a disaster are exposed to losing up to millions of dollars in the event of an IT disabling disaster.
  • Retain Customers

The inability to service your customers can weaken trust and potentially drive customers away

  • Retain Market/Investor Confidence

Loss of site access creates the perception that a business is unprepared and unreliable

  • Maintain a Competitive Edge

A damaged reputation and inability to fulfill a company's mission will hurt its competitive standing

Why should you join BEPA if you have a plan?

  • Value of staying current with the later techniques and knowledge
  • Affirming that you and your staff are prepared and have developed procedures to handle specialized and day-to-day problems
  • Keeps contingency planning top-of-mind and in the forefront so that you can respond in a timely fashion.
