The Business Emergency Planning Association (BEPA) is a membership organization of the Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
BEPA's mission is to help its member organizations and the greater Cincinnati community minimize the economic and human impact of business disasters and interruptions by understanding and applying effective business continuity planning practices.
BEPA is a consortium of businesses, organizations and business continuity and disaster planning specialists dedicated to ensuring that your company will continue operations at maximum possible efficiency following a disaster event.
BEPA offers educational and networking opportunities that will allow your organization to gather the knowledge and information it needs to effectively:
PREVENT disasters
PREPARE for disasters - and –
RESPOND efficiently to disasters
“…Why bother? Disasters don’t happen here.”
Not true.
Disasters can happen anywhere,
often with little or no warning.
Even if you think you are not in a disaster-prone area, something like a chemical tanker truck overturning can prevent you and your employees from getting to your facility.
Although an event such as a flood may not put your business under water, customers and supplies may not be able to get to you. Power outages, brown outs or surges can affect your daily business operations.
Many disasters, like wind storms, tornadoes and earthquakes, can strike with little or no warning.
Examples of different disasters to prevent, prepare for, and respond to in your organization:
- Fire
- Explosion
- Medical Emergencies
- Severe Weather Events
- Power Outages
- Earthquake
- Flood
- Utilities Disruption
- Bomb Activation
- Structural Collapse
- Waterline Rupture
- Technology Failures
- Workplace Violence
- Stalking/Domestic Violence
- Civil Disturbance
- Biological/Nuclear Terrorism
- HazMat Incidents
